Hello I am new to this board and boating and I thought I would introduce myself I am Eric H. from Anaconda Montana! I just picked myself up this little boat from the auto salvage yard. I checked over the boat before bringing it home the hull and what looks good no stress cracking anywhere I can find! Transom seem solid no flexing when playing with the motor (HE HE). Sounds solid by knocking on it (transom) with my hand!
Anyway I have no clue who makes her or what year she is? Would any of you know? Also the Engine is ‘rude Spot four is all I can see on the engine! I can’t find any other ID on it! Where do I look? What year would the engine be also?
Also how do I go about testing/starting the motor? It has not been run since 2000 (I guess) and the prop won’t spin but I don’t think that means anything dose it? Could be stuck in gear or cold an frozen! I know like a car I am sure you just can’t put new gas and battery and hit the starter! Seen that done too many times with cars and all the damaged it dose.
Now I am pretty good under the hood so I know car engines and what not maybe a pretty good backyard guy ;-) LOL But any answers written for dummies would be greatly helpful as I don’t know anything about boats or outboard engines ;-)

Thank you for any and all info
