same thing i've been working on, that is, no spark, despite cut off and coil checking out ok. been quoted a 5 week time slot at my local shop! what recession?

If there is a fuse it would probably look like this one (it's a Merc but fuses are fuses). If you don't see it, its in the little box with the word "Fuse" on it. Sorry -- I couldn't resist that.

thanks for that, but with the other 2 big things in that picture missing on my eng. (Starter and Solenoid) it would not be unexpected that there wouldn't be a fuse there either.

no fuse but you would probably want to check ignition module, stator, charge coil and sensor assembly as well as checking all grounds. If you don't have one you'll need to get a service manual and a digital multi meter with a peak volt adapter to check for proper voltages etc..from the above components.
