running engine at home

What is the process of starting and running my engine at home and what do i need?


1. Engine muffsfor water, universal or custom fit???
2. water house
3. a deep bucket or 1/2 a trash can to put prop in?
what else?

and what is the correct 1,2,3 for this

I don't trust muffs.Do to possible operator error.I like a nice big trash can or barrel and get the motor into it as deep as possible.I stick my Merc 500 into it right up to the mounting bracket and fill it to the brim.You can't really put it in gear in a barrel. Any in gear testing needs to be done on the water.
Putting it in gear on muffs proves nothing other than it goes in gear.
