Piston replacement in a 6hp Evinrude
I need to replace a piston in a '65 6hp Evinrude. I do not have the exact year but I have a piston from a mid forties Johnson, 5.5hp. The piston is the same width but is a bit longer. Will this work in the 6hp Evinrude power head?
Thanks,
Gary

I think I can safely say you can't do that.

Re: Piston replacement in a 6hp Evinrude
TD-15 is a Johnson 5 hp 1941-42
6502 is an Evinrude 6 hp 1965
I don't have those parts numbers, but I'd say no. Completely different motors.
