I was getting ready to order my parts for my 1984 Johnson 90 hp to re-seal the gearcase and I was wanting to post a list of the parts ordered to see if there is anything I am forgetting.

All part numbers are OMC:

- 0329923--Lower Seal
-0329922--Upper Seal
-0314728--Driveshaft bearing O-ring
-0388618--Cover Seal assy.
-0318372--Shift rod O-ring
-0324670-Cover Gasket
-0321463--Oil retainer
-0317178--O-rings
-0392750---Water pump kit w/housing

If you see anything I am forgetting please let me know. Also what type of Gasket sealant, Grease and Adhesive do you recommend because I can find the OMC stuff the manual calls for around here.
Thank you all for all the help yall have given me so far on this gearcase leak problem..

You should order the seal kit. You get everything you need at a greatly reduced price.

Re: 1984 johnson parts?

Give your dealer the model and serial number of your motor.

The part you have listed as "Cover seal assy 388618" is the actual metal cover and is not part of any kit.

Re: 1984 johnson parts?

I was like Tashadaddy I asked around and couldnt find a whole seal kit for that motor.Thats why I shopped around and found that Best Boat Parts had the best prices on BRP parts.I was hoping that that #388618 would have the seals already in it and was just going to change the whole thing..
These manuals are the greatest things on earth with all the diagrams and all but some parts are still hard to see or tell what exactly they are..
