Look a UFO :D:D. Cool picture though, I don't recall seeing the movie, and if I have it's been a good while back.

Yep, Live and Let die.

They actually tested it on Mythbusters. The idea was to test if the boat would be able to jump 70 feet, and still be intact upon hitting the water. Well, trying to drive a remote control boat at 45 mph, from another moving boat isn't exactly easy. They hit the ramp crooked, and the boat bobbled a bit. But, it made it up the ramp, and cleared the 70 foot mark. The only issue was, it landed upside down. They still called it plausible, as even though it hit upside down, the myth stated if it would be intact enough to keep driving. If it was intact the way it hit, there is no reason it would have broken on a better landing.

C & P from Glastron site

Also in 1973, the company built 26 Glastron and Glastron/Carlson boats for the James Bond film ?Live and Let Die.? Seventeen boats were destroyed in the 100+ practice jumps to find the optimum speed and ramp design to achieve what became the world record 110' jump. The Glastron GT-150 flying over two police cars became a cover story in Time magazine.

I have read that it was special built with a center console and way over powered ........ hmmmmm sounds like iboats kind of people :D :D :D

Can you imagine how scary it must be to do that in a real boat? OMG!

Nice 2 door caprice in the picture too.

They wrecked over 50 of them (Chevy Caprices and a few Novas), as I recall. Plus, 17 Glastron boats, 17 135 HP Evinrudes, 5 Cessnas, a jet boat, a barge and a double decker bus.

One of my all time favorite movies.

Those were fun little boats when you put too big a motor on them, they would skip sideways across the water when turning too hard and fast, Scare the bejesus out of ya.:eek::D:D
