I did not see the words "I replaced the impeller" in your post or is it a typo where you said propellor ????
The thermostats usually open way short of boiling point so they may be suspect as well. Not sure what temp they should open up bu 140 degrees ish rings a bell with me. Someone will be along shortly that will know exactly for your motor.
