I have a 1991 Evinrude 40 hp with manual tilt/trim. Someone before me has cut the cable (I think) and the hydraulic cylinder appears shot, meaning it doesn't hold up the motor and it doesn't make any difference were the lever is positioned.
What is the standard procedure to repair these. Rebuild or replace? Where is a good place to find the parts? Thanks for the help.
