Hi
My check engine light and buzzer came on today. It started doing it everytime I hit the gas and the front came up. I was real low on gas. I put more gas in it and then it stayed off. Can anybody tell me what the check engine light really means and what I should check when it comes on ?
Thanks Rod

I believe that is for fuel restriction, when it activates at high rpms. A constant light/buzzing at all rpms would be overheat. Im assuming you dont have a manual? You should get one, they will pay for themselves a million times over.

The 4 red lights are
1. low oil
2. engine oil
3. check engine
4. hot
They may not be in that exact order. I am not getting heat light I am getting check engine light.
Is anyone famillir with the 1999 Johnson 150 that can answer.

Rodster, Check engine light/alarm occurs when the engine is not getting enough gasoline. It is activated by a vacuum switch on the vapor seperator above and behind the VRO Pump (actually OMS Pump). You may have sucked up some dirt when your gasoline level was low, or it may have sucked some air into the fule line.
