55HP Johnson ex armee

I just bought an 55HP ex Armee Johnson outboard engine.
What I like to know is the age and which manual I could use in case of trouble.
The type is SM-55A Serial B0015xx

This is a tough one indeed. Im thinking 1983, but the site that I found that on was a Dutch type of iboats, so I may have lost some in the translation. That model number is not on any of the lists that I have for military outboards.

yes there are a lot of differences, as the water purging system, when dropped in the water, for a raft.
