Remote oil tanks

I've purchased a 1995 Mercury 150EFI but didn't get the remote oil tank with it. Found someone switching to four stroke with a 2004 Mercury 250EFI. Could anyone tell me if this tank will work with the 150?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Remote oil tanks

They should be the same. It's just a tank that holds a few gallons of oil and 2 lbs of air pressure. 2 hoses to the cap, one supplies air from the engine and the other takes the oil back to the engine reserve tank via a vacuum relief valve.

hope it helps

Re: Remote oil tanks

If it looks like the one in the picture below, that is the normal tank for either year.

Be sure you don't mix up the air and oil hoses on the engine.

Re: Remote oil tanks

Thanks for the info. I thought there was a sending unit in the tank that needs to be wired in also to warn of low oil level?
Thanks,

Re: Remote oil tanks

The oil warning alarm is on the engine mounted tank. The remote tank only keeps the engine mounted tank full, it does not go directly to the oil pump.
