I have an old 70 yamaha , the blue color if that helps, it wont go into forward or reverse, I shifted it inside the motor and still doesnt help, anyone know where I go from here and how to get there, also the bolts are bad from being in salt water , anything to help with getting the bolts , I suppose I have to lower the foot to see whats going on, the motor runs good , but wont shift into gear

Your lower shift shaft has rusted in half. If you drop the lower unit, the bottom of the shift shaft will come out with it. It will require removal of the powerhead to replace the shaft. Pre 93 engines used non stainless steel shafts and they rusted in half.

is there a site to go to so I can see(a microfiche or parts layout) the bolts to take out etc to get the motor apart, something I can use for a reference if I need help in taking apart and putting it back together if I lose track of something,

It would help if you posted the exact model number from the identification plate. You should obtain a factory service manual.
