I am not by any means an expert on the new stuff, but the factory service manuals say very clearly:

NOTE: Do not clean carburetor or its components by submerging in strong carburetor cleaner or hot soaking tank. Strong cleaners may damage components or remove sealing compounds. Flush all carburetor holes and passages with a small syringe filled with isopropyl alcohol and blow carburetor and passages dry with compressed air of not more than 25 psi.

Hey, that's what the book says.

I was going to recommend Berryman's Chem Tool which I used for 10's of years, but that was on metal carbs with metal floats. It really attacks the varnish (and painted surfaces also), but on plastic you might rethink it.

Might look them up on www (Berryman Co.) and ask.
