How important is it to fog the carbs? I’ve never done it and to be honest, I’m a bit intimidated by the task. Afraid of screwing up the carb. Also, when I put the stabilizer in the gas, should I run the engine afterward to get it into the lines?

The point of fogging is not the fog the carbs but to get the fogging oil into the engine so it prevents corrosion on the internal engine components. All you need to do is run the engine till its warm and then shoot the fogging oil down the carb throat until the engine stalls out. When you add stabilizer you do need to run it through the lines or your going to need to rebuild the carbs come spring because you'll get varnish from the fuel going bad.

I would also remove the plugs after it dies and add some fogging oil into the cylinders as well, rotating the flywheel (in the right direction of course), both spreading the fogger and removing the excess water from the impeller housing.

The fogging also helps the carb throttle plates not to rust, and they will.
