Hey Yamaha owners,
I am looking at getting a new Xpress H18 bass boat with a 150hp Yamaha VMAX HDPI motor on it. Any one out there have one of these motors? Are they a good choice. I think i would rather have the VMAX than the 4stroke 150. Lighter and better performance. Easy to start up? Run good? Any problems with this motor?
thanks,
CWCW

This is the new(2nd generation)HPDI, and should have most of the kinks worked out....it is a little pricier to maintain than a 4-stroke, well a lot really....but it's a good motor

When you say much more expensive to run, are you talking about having to buy 2stroke oil? Cause all of the specs i have read on the difference in fuel economy between the 4strokes and the DI 2strokes is almost nothing, like one GPH difference.
