Default Evinrude powerhead bolt torque specs ?????

Anyone know the proper rowerhead bolt torque specs for a 91 15 hp Evinrude? Is it 15-17 lbs???

That sounds right. Be sure to follow the correct sequence as well when torquing.I am unsure of the exact amount of bolts on that cylinder head, but the same idea applies, where a number represents a bolt. You start in the center and work out is a circular fashion.

Thanks much! I forgot to mention that I am looking for the torque for the bolt that attach the powerhead to the exaust housing. Would that still be 15-17 lbs torque? It is a 6 bolt setup.

I am not certain, but on my larger hp motors, it is 14 to 16 ft/lbs, then re torqued to 18 to 20 ft/lbs after motor test.

Hopefully someone will be able to verify these numbers for your outboard.

hello,

generally, 15-17 ft-lbs is in the range of a 3/8ths bolt. so be sure of ur bolt size, unless u source specs per the oem service manual.
