running temperature?

I'm brain storming again. what is the running temperature of outboards? I've got a 9.9 and a 115 HP, on the 9.9 I was thinking of adding an ignition kill circuit that would trip if the temperature got to hot, and what is "to hot"?

I'm going to be adding needless but geeky gadgets to my little 12 foot boat as I put it back together, and wanted to plan something out for a kill circuit for the outboard in the event the impeller quit working and the outboard got hot.

I have an electric outboard for it as well, plus I can rig up an override switch or something, I'm still not 100% sure just exactly what it's going to have and not have, I'm still getting ideas for it, some I'll keep and build into the boat, others I'll chuck.

I'm not sure a temperature switch will work. The black/yellow has a pretty good jolt to it and may jump the gap in a temp switch...... one way to find out huh?
