Hey guys, I'm looking at a 1987 bayliner with a 4cyl cobra engine and cobra outdrive. Are these a good motor and outdrive are they hard to get parts for and to work on. I think their OMC right? So would it be better to pass by? thanks.

I'm sorry to be the one to inform you but you are looking at a second rate boat (even lower in some people's opinion) and a sterndrive that never achieved what OMC hoped. They have a couple of redeeming characteristics, but in general people steer clear of them. Far more service agents for the big 2, Mercruiser and Volvo Penta. OMC, Mercruiser and Volvo use the same engines (from GM) and just hang their own manifolds, drive unit, Gimbal housings etc from them.
