Are they going to introduce a new DFI type midrange 50-90 hp motor? I hear they have to upgrade the carb motors to a 5 star rating next year?

Should I wait or go ahead and buy a carbed 50hp now?

I think one of the more important factors regarding buying a carbed engine now vs buying the same engine as a DFI/EFI is what your local officials have in mind for regulations on your most frequented waters. If there is a possibility of implementation of restrictions (such as no carbed two strokes) you might want to wait or choose a model that already is DFI (like E-tec). If that's not an issue and you don't have a problem with a carbed engine, get the 50 Yammy now. They are an excellent buy if you shop around. I'm considering one for pontoon service.
