Everybody knows a Richard or two. If ya wanted to shorten his name ya might call him Rick or Ricky. What most Richards go by when they shorten it though is ****. How do you get that out of Richard?

I know somebody is gonna think dirty thoughts too, it wasn't posted that way or with that intent.

You get Rick from Richard and then "the change in the initial consonant is said to have been caused by the way the trilled Norman R was pronounced by the English."...

Seems to me you'd shorten Richard to Rich rather than Rick. Where they got **** from I'll never know.

There is a fellow in my hometown whose name is Harold Richard Butt. He goes by "****" as well. No joke, I'll take a pic of the phone book if there are any doubters. He's a nice person, but sure has a funny name. I don't get the **** thing either, but don't think about it much.:)
