Are the F115 and F150 basically the same engine but with a bigger piston bore for the f150? The f150 is 50 lbs heavier. JUst wondering?

I've owned both engines and I don't think they share the same block. While layout of components is similar, the covers and guards on the engines attach differently and stroke is different, 3.5" vs 3.79" indicating different cranks.

You know what, thats a good question. I think the first thing you should do here is, find out if the F115 and the F150 are basically the same engine just with a bigger piston bore on the F150. Then once you find out that information then you will know if the F115 and F150 are the same engine just with the F150 having a bigger piston bore. Once you have that information then you will know for sure. thats what i would do anyways.

about the only similarity between the two engine designs is the gray paint.
other than that even the intake manifolds are on opposite sides.

...and they use different oil filters which are on opposite sides, also.

Thanks to all who responded. Seems this drewmitch44 character has issues. A little less time on the web and more time with real people may teach you how to deal with people. If not keep being a prick.

Let's not be so critical. Some folks aren't very adept at saying what they mean and are only trying to help. Calling someone names is simply not necessary.
