I have a 1986 chaparral 195 with the 5.0 alpha one i/o. It has worked great for me all summer, but yesterday when i went out, i made a sweeping left turn after letting the boat warm up and came to an idle, when i put it in drive again the engine just reved. I messed with it a minute and put it in reverse which was fine, but it would not go into drive. I figured out, that if the outdrive is turned all the way to the right it goes into gear fine. On land the steering now locks up like something is tangled in there, and at random points in steering, it is in gear. Any suggestions to whats going on?
