And when I put her in neutral there is still a little rub in the drive shaft. It will spin pretty free but I here the rubbing when I spin the prop. Also when I run the engine out of the water in neutral It will spin a tiny bit..... any advice.

If it's rubbing a little, it's still not adjusted correctly. You need to move it just a little bit more away from what ever directions it's rubbing.
As far as the turning while in neutral, that's typical and just friction from the gear lube and the spinning gears.

when adjusting is it a matter of one or two turns typically or would it be FAR off?

The measurement should be 6" from the center of the 'barrell' nut to the center of the 'eye' with the cable pushed inward & the prop turned ccw to insure it is locked in foreward....... ;)

So what your saying is ... If someone not to name names was adjusting this to pull the slack out of the cable by pulling the cable twoards the front of the boat .... it would be the exact OPPOSITE of what is required? I am a moran.

Nope, you push the cable in & turn the prop CW until it locks.... ;)

Is this a Cobra drive? The bell crank must be adjusted to 90* with the drive off then the trunion adjusted to the 6 inch measurement on the engine bracket.....You may have already done this but i did not see the post..;)
