Can i use a CheVy Chuck Engine Bottom Half ?

Can i use a chevy 5.7 bottom Half on my remainding manifolds etc to make a complete engine , i have a look an one in a junk yard and it is the exact same thing the only thing it is fuel injection, they say i have to put on my center peice with the caberator on it ?

you should at the very least change the freeze plugs to brass.auto water pump probably wont last long either.

Doesn't sound like you're real familiar with rebuilding engines, tigerhack. As Bond-O says, lots more "gotchas" waiting for you rebuilding that motor than can be reasonably covered on this board (that's why they make manuals and pay experienced mechanics more....). Hopefully you have a mechanic helping you with this swap or at least intend to follow a manual step-by-step!

Likely your best bet would be to get a marine long block and use the rest of the parts off your current engine. I would make sure to replace the oil pump though and check the distributor gear for wear.
