I'm helping a buddy winterize his boat and noticed that it is a closed loop cooling system. How do you drain the fresh water from this type of cooling system? Gravity or is there a drain plug?

theres two ways of draining,,,on the heat exchanger end closest to the back of the boat there are two drain plugs , a 7/16 wrench fits them ,,you want to take out the one closest to the end cap,,the other one is to drain the antifreeze, dont take that one off ...other option is to take the end cap off,,make sure you fill the raw water side up with anti-freeze,it is done by taking hose of riser and filling it up with antifreeze till you see it coming out of the water intake on th i/o,,,good luck,,,
