Winterizing, bimini up or down?

I'm winterizing my boat this weekend and am wondering if I should cover it with the bimini up or down? I'm thinking that with the bimini up there's less chance of snow and/or water accumulating on the cover (heavy duty tarp) but I don't know if it will be bad for the bimini frame.

I would make an A frame out of pve pipes,the bimini bars might not be strong enough to support the trap AND the snow and ice.
