Aluminum Sea Nymph, do you paint the bottom????

Hi all,
A friend of mine has a late 80s aluminum Sea Nymph. The bottom is not painted. He is thinking about painting the bottom for protection. He mainly uses it in fresh water, but maybe 2 or 3 times a year, he may take a trip to the gulf.
I say "don't paint, it ain't worth the trouble". What do ya'll think?

don't paint. my chris craft 230 deckboat is not painted, and we go to the Keys for the August. they boat stays in the water the whole month.
