My after market manual indicates 3.5 first appeared in 69,a 1709 is a 69 a 1709B is a 70 Doesn't list a 1709C But highest number is 1706C for a 3.5 71.The 3.5 1700 series numbers end in 73 with 1929A and 1945A.

Thought is was about a '70. Guy that's interested though it was a 50's, but told him they weren't even designed yet back then..thanks again..
