hey new to the forum and have a few questions that hopefully someone can help me out with. first i have a 1989 johnson tracker 110. the motor was just rebuilt last month but am still having troubles with it. took it out and it was running fine then the motor would bog down the tach would drop to zero and it would kill out. talked to my mechanic and he said that with the tach dropping like that the voltage regulator was probably bad. i changed the voltage regulator and the motor fired right up. took it out the next weekend and after running about 3/4 speed it started to bog down again and kill out but the tach never dropped to zero like before. tried to get it running but could not had to be towed in 2 trips in a row. now the starter seems to be getting stuck when you try to crank it. fooled with it a little but the body of the starter gets extremely hot after just trying to crank it just once. now the gear on top of the starter sticks up in the flywheel and will not drop back down. should i get a new starter or get the old one rebuilt. also with it sticking up on the flywheel will this cause the motor not to start because i cannot get the motor to start at all any help would be greatly appreciated because the guy that rebuilt it will now not return my calls as i have tried to get in touch with him several times in the last few days. thanks
