The mid 70 650s used 2 different ign. system so we need to know the serial number of if it has a distributer or 3 coils

S/N 7020228 it has a distributor with some kind of pickup (no points )
I am somewhat mechanically inclined but I am not familiar with this setup

The normal problem with that system is the trigger (distributer body) if there is 12 volt to it, heres the CDI test for the system

No voltage across blue and black trigger wires.Checked with digital voltmeter .Have 12 volts at white/ black trigger terminal. Instruction sheet indicates bad trigger . What is the meaning of the term " DVA "on instruction sheet ?

A DVA is a adapter the lets you capture and read peak voltage in the system Direct Voltage Adapter many newer meters have it built in. If you want to double check you findings on the trigger do the tes that it describes on the drawing
