Hello all I have a 1984 90 hp johnson.
This summer I hit a rock and spun my prop hub. I replaced the prop and all seemed well until I tried to pull a skier out of the water. Motor reves to 3000 rpm and them bogs there. It will then slowly rev up but it takes awhile to get to wot. When I am not pulling anyone the engine revs to wot right away when I open the throttle. Any help would be great.

check your compression, and spark on all 4. report back. what do the plugs look like?

Did it pull a skier better before you replaced the prop? Sounds like you have too much prop. Is the new prop the same pitch and brand as the old one?

Spark and plugs are good. It worked fine for pulling before I hit rock.
What do you mean to much prop. I did change from a 17 pitch to a 15 pitch.
Before rock 17 pitch after rock 15 pitch because I wanted to have a better hole shot so this was a perfect opportunity to go down a pitch. Could this be the problem.
