my mako238 has a 1995 evinrude 225 with vro pump and tank removed.once on plane at 3200rpm the buzzer starts to chirp.then moving up the rpm range the buzzer is more steady. the cooling temp is 152 deg. tested with lazer thermometer.had new pump and heas gaskets 20 hours ago.i mix gas/oil at1quart oil to 12gal.gas.the gas is 1.5years old with sta bil added.i have not noticed any performance decrease.my thought is a fuel concern issue so i replaced all hoses filters and primer ball. took fuel sample when changing filters found no water. also the tank was replaced 3 years ago.my question is am i looking in the wright area for my buzzer concern or should i be looking elsewere?

Re: buzzer going off

Thank you for the welcome. the stats, water pump ang head gaskets only have 20 hours. The boat sat all summer while I worked on my education. When the boat was used last it had no problem. It still runs great today.

A manual will pay for itself many times over. It will have all the buzzer decodings in it for you.

Does the buzzer go away when you reduce the rpms? If so, it's probably a fuel restriction buzzer, not overheat. There are two steady buzzers: over heat and fuel restriction. The difference is that the fuel restriction buzzer goes away when you reduce the rpms.

There's also two intermittant buzzers (probably disconnected when your oiling system was removed): low oil and no oil.

I recommend you get an OEM OWNER'S manual which will tell you what the owner/operator needs to know about this sort of stuff.
