Mariner 50 4 Stroke,idle Probs?
Hello People,this Is My 1st Post And I,m New To Boating To Boot So Be Gentle,
Recently Bought An Alaska 500 With A 50 Hp 4 Stroke Mariner.have Used It Several Times And All Seems Fine.put It In For A Service And Was Told It Does Not Idle Low Enough.did Find In Use I Could Not Troll? A Lure Slow Enough Without The Engine Sounding As If It Would Stall But Apart From That Runs Very Well Sounds Smooth And Quiet And Starts First Prod Every Time.
Did Think It Heavy On Fuel But Found Feed Hose Badly Perished And Split But Could Not Smell Petrol When In Use.new Hose And Filter Fitted Since But Not Used
Service Guy Reckoned Theres A Tight Spot If Engine Is Turned Over Manually But I Thought It Would Sound Rough In Use Or Get Hot,but No To Both.
Should I Keep Running It Till It Buggers Up Or What? I Have A Brand New 5hp Honda As A Get Me Home.
