Default Force(Mercury) 50 2 stroke tach help please

Hi,
I am rebuilding a 1998 BasStream 142 Predator with a 1998 Force 50 2S and could use a little help, please.

1. Can anyone tell me how many poles I need to set a tachometer on in order for it to work with this engine?

2. How do I access the wiring?

3. Is there a harness or plug that I can access? and if so, where would I get the other part of the harness to plug it in to?

Thanks so much from a newbie to all of this.

Chip

I think Teleflex is the site that tells you what you want to know. My service man has the page in it but it is out in the shop. Merc uses the 6P position. Don't remember if Force does also or not.

It's not a Force made by Chrysler, it's a Force made by Mercury.

Thank you! i sent them a detailed email to their technical support department, and hopefully will hear back this week some time.

Thanks again and Happy New Year.
