Will a 1978 johnson 35hp carb fit a 1974 Evinrude 25hp?My carb(25hp) has a bad throttle shaft(lots of play).I've found a carb off of a 1978 johnson 35hp that is cheaper than ordering a throttle shaft for mine .If it works will I have to do anything special or just bolt up and go?Thanks for the information."MERRY CHRISTMAS" everyone. chad

it will fit, but may run rich.

Will it be too rich like fouling plugs at idle.I need it o idle for trolling purposes.Anything i can do too fix the rich condition such as jet change,etc.Thanks again Chad

gapping the plugs to about .035 or .040 will help with the constant trolling a bit.
