SO i got my new engine in. a crusader 350 power pack engine. I dropped it in and I got it lined up with the tool. But... Like I have said in previous posts this is my first boat rebuild I have worked on cars all my life. The out drive is a 83' merc. 260 pre alpha. I have tried to downlaod the manual for the outdrive but the file is one gig and my comp ****s the bed every time i try. So here are the questions.

I want toreplace the water impeller before I put the out drive back one. Where is it? Is it easier to do with the OD off?

Also is there anything else I should try to do before I put it back ion beside grease eveything up?

Re: water impeller/outdrive

I find it easier to replace the impellor with the outdrive on the boat. This way the top of the outdrive is supported by the boat, when the outdrive is off the boat I could not find a convenient way to support the top of the drive whilst I pulled the bottom off (to get access to the impellor). Of course if you have a proper stand to support the outdrive then my problem dissapears.
