Marine alternators- sealed with mesh screens?

Ok, I'm confused. I thought all marine alternators had to have very fine mesh screens on the vents to contain sparks from the brushes/sliprings. I'm seeing several listings for marine alternators on fleabay where you can clearly see the internal windings. I'm not promoting this, just wanted a picture for reference.

it may be a stock picture, the secretary that entered the listing, may not know the difference. i would question the seller about it. your correct in your thinking.
