I'm trying to replace my impellar on a 84 mercury 50hp. The lower unit will not seperate from the spline even when it is slightly wedged open from the upper housing. Any suggestions would help?
Thanks, I did remove the bolt from the underside of the cap and trim tab but I didn't try a rubber mallet. I'll give it a few raps and see what happens.
