what does the beep, beep, beep, beep and keeps beeping horn mean its not the horn for water in fuel or low oil horn or the constant beep of the hot horn ????? any clues thanks
I'm no Mechanic but it sounds to me you need to have it looked at A.S.A.P. Hope you're not running with this alarm going off! Is this going on just after start up? Do you restart and it goes away? Could be a drain down of oil from the tank mounted on the motor but I'm just guessing. Talk to a Marine Dealer, Mechanic and get it fixed soon. Good Luck.
never thought of oil pump, maybe, also when this horn is going off it is in guardian/failsafe mode
(not letting me have any throttle advance)when i shut it off & restart its ok for 5 minutes or so throttle & all and then starts again
What you have is a non critical fault. Possibly a shorted direct air injector or coil. The 2000 Optimax is the worst year by far for these motors. I would make Mercury give me a new one.
