Default evinrude 150 head swap

found that one of my heads. is warped mr hadley said that the most i can surface .is 010 put feeler gauge under and got 013 at worst spot
wanting to know if i can go a little firther if machineist cant get it with 010
and use thicker head gasket.like the low octane part on brp site.
or if some one knows if 175 or 250 heads will work
or possibly xp heads .would like to save head its in perfect condition
other than warped / or should i leave it to machinest/ or cut 010 and use
thicker head gasket on one side other side is good with new gasket and ex gaskets are new .

If it's warped that bad you can cut it and use the thicker gaskets. If it were mine I'd get a set of 150 XP / GT heads. They have an excellent swirl pattern. Any 149 cid V6 crossflow set of heads will work. (Keep the heads in a set) The 175 crossflow heads will work, the 175 looper heads will not work. None of the 250 heads will work.

thanks d hadley im going to have the head cut if it clens up at 010 i will run factory gasket if it is slightly more i will go to the thicker head gasket.
looked at what was going to be a set of xp heads but the part numbers were for a 149cid crossflow 1984 so i didnt buy them .and it seems the xps have gone the way of the old 375 horse chevy heads very hard to find
thank you very much for your time

Before you go any further make sure the set you have is a matching set. The port head will be one number lower than the starboard head. IE -- port 123456 and starboard 123457.

If you cut one, cut both.

To save yourself some headaches, I'd start looking for a set of replacement heads. D. Hadley is right, there are tons of older crossflow heads still around. They made some really great ones in the late 70's. Also some good ones on the 150XP/GT engines in the late 80's. You should see some performance improvement. You see them on Ebay frequently-just be persistent. As he mentioned, be sure you get heads for a small bore crossflow.
