hey Frank how are you doing? Hopefully good as for me , well i'm trying to get back on this project of mine. I took a couple of days off from this project due to my father passing away on Wed. of last week. So I hope your still out there Frank, by the way I ment to ask you if your still going to be in Texas in October like you had mentioned a while back? If you are yes I would like you to please give me a hand I would really appriciate it. My determination is still there but not like it was a week ago. I purchased new plug wires but dont think they are going to work they have a brass tip on one end; I was thinking that I could just cut it off so they would work what do you think? Really to be truthful I feel that if you were to come to Texas you could get it running faster than me trying to type everything that I have problems with. Also perhaps you could take a look at my other little project boat 1971 Super Skeeter with a 1971 40hp evenrude. This one really isnt a priorty ive been using my trolling motor to get a round for the past 3 months and really I have been doing pretty good just like this(fish wise).Well thank you alot and hope to here from you soon.

Sorry to hear about your father. Was it expected?

You must have me confused with someone else. I live in Pa. and have no plans to get to Texas. Been there a few times for training at A&M though.

I was wondering if you were going to get back to the forum.

Wires--you can try cutting off the ends, or (mind you, I've never done it myself) you can try drilling the ends of the fittings so they will slide over the distributor prongs. Might work. At any rate, get it together and check for spark, and we'll take it from there. Believe me! These engines are simple. Get a Clymers manual and you will probably have it running in no time.
