We are getting an audible "beeeeep-beeeeep" every few minutes.
Marina tells us (over the phone while we are out on our first solo run) it is the gear lube monitor alarming.
All fluid levels check out according to specs.
Boat running remarkably smooth.
Speculation is that the system needs bleeding and the alarm is a false reading.
We tried resetting the sensor by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This had no effect.
Motor has been kept below 3,000 rpms.
Marina says that many new boats go through this in the first few hours of operation. Any one ever experience this?
Boat to be in for diagnostic check ASAP.

Re: Gear Lube Monitor Alarm Issues

well NO MPI expert

BUT on a standard motor the BEEP is only 3 things

1. drive oil level ( it is just a float switch in the oil tank)
2 .motor over heat
3. Low motor oil Pressure

And when it beeps it does NOT stop ;)

On and MPI motor it can beep for many more things like LOW water pressure ECT

Re: Gear Lube Monitor Alarm Issues

There are several things besides low gear lube that can cause a soft (two beeps per minute) alarm. If your boat is equipped with a Smartcraft gauge or display, that should tell you what it is, otherwise you need to connect a scan tool.
