A good friend has an older 20 HP Rude that is missing the "link shallow water drive" it is omc part number 324444. Dealer says no longer avaliable and cannot find anthing online. Any ideas or links to site where we could find one would be appreciated. It looks simple enough to make one but do not have the dimensions so it would require making a number of them before we hit the right length. Thanks for looking.

Your friend needs to find a Johnson or Evinrude dealer who has 'StockPro'. It is a service available to find NLA parts nation wide.I saw at least 30 of them still listed.The Dealer can set his price where ever he wants it.
