I just bought a Johnson Super Seahorse 35 today but I can't find a model, year, or serial number. There is a metal plate that contains the words "serial number" but there is no place for a number. Any help would be appreciated.

If the plate is missing, then you'll need to go by the cowling. They only made the SSH model for two years as a 35hp - 1958 and 1959. 1958 had a white cowling with gold side fins and chrome accents. 1959 had an all white cowling with a chrome ring on the top and a thin chrome band around the middle.
