i have a 25 hp merc on a 16 ft v hull i have only taken it out 3 times but i have a problem the motor would speed up but the boat wouldnt i took it to a repair shop and the propeller was stripped so they replaced it its still doing it but not as bad about half throttle it feels like its slipping i dont know if the motor is to small or the shaft isnt long enough

The cavition plate on the engine should be about level with the bottom of the boat if the engine is the right length shaft

the plate is almost even with the bottom of boat could it be the boat is to big it almost seems like spinning tires on your car also the cavitation plate has a round plate on the bottom of it and half of it is broke off would that have any affect?

No and no is the engine cocked out a bit to far or is there a obstrution in front of prop on the bottom of the boat

Would the 16ft boat be fiberglass and heavy ??? Could be trying to do way too much with too little.
