1974 75hp chryslerO/B plug wires

I recently posted about my plug wire location as far as on the cap but would like someone to just confirm the positioning of the wires them selves. there is the cap cover then a piece of rubber then the cap itself which has 6 points of contact and 1 for the coil wire. OK my 3 plug wires are curently located on 3 of the 6 contacts, the 3 contacts that the wires are on do not have a copper tab on the underside of the cap. Now my question is if the location of the plug wires is correct or do they need to be on the other 3 contacts like on automobiles where all wires have a tab on the underside? It just seems odd that they would be located where they are. Please help I am new to this motor and would like a second opinion before going any further or before messing something up. Once again Im new to this motor and have no knoledge of its history but it wont start.

Ok! Here's the logic you can use: The copper tabs or flashing runs up the cap to the edge. Most caps have a thin gasket that is about 1/2 the thickness of the plug gap and some caps are missing this gasket. If the wires were on these copper flashed terminals AND if you could align the cap to the proper firing point, (you can't because it has a locating hole that mates with a pin on the distributor body.) then, when the coil fired, the spark would preferentially jump the gasket and ground on the distributor body instead of jumping the plug gap. Nothing should attach to these terminals and in addition, the rubber membrane should have NO holes in it at these points.

Now, It's getting late for me and I need to leave. Tomorrow I will return and explain how to set up the timing at Top Dead Center to check for spark, and guide you through trying to start the engine.
