Is primer paint the same as bottom paint/aluminum

Someone told me this was true. I use aluminum boats in salt water. Thanks.

No.

Bottom paint contains materials toxic to marine creatures that want to colonize the bottom of the boat.

Primer paint is made to be compatible with the surface being primed and the later finish paint and to seal a surface.

The only thing they share as far as I know is that we call them both paint.
