Hi Guys, I was just given an outboard. It's a Evinrude 5.5 H.P. Fisherman. Serial# 5516 -11451. I think it was made in 1958 but not sure, If someone could verify I would be grateful. I need to find out the fuel mixture. Under the coulling 1/2 pint of 30 wt. per gal of gas. Would that be different with todays new oils. Sorry for the long post, and thank you so much for any imformation. Jim

Nice gift.

Its a 1958. Takes 24:1 regular 87 octane gas to TC-W3 oilboard oil. Plugs are Champion J6C gapped to .030.

My book calls for J4C plugs in that 'Rude.

J6C are okay for low speed operation but the J4C is recommended for all-round use.
