I'm totally new to boating, and I've already put more than 40 hours on my boat (volvo penta sx 5.0 GL). The boat is currently at 170 hours.

Can someone recommend a shop that will service a volvo penta sx?

An internet friend recommended the following services:

Fog engine, drain engine block, manifolds and exhaust bellows, refill with bio-degradable antifreeze, greese steering, throttle and shift cables, coat engine with anti-corrosive spray, remove outdrive, grease outdrive u-joints and gimbal bearing, change gear oil, remove prop(s), check engine alignment, reinstall outdrive, change engine oil, oil filter and fuel filter, replace impeller.

Go to the link below and download a free owners manual for your engine model. Then you will KNOW what needs to be done for any service.

Since you mentioned "Fog engine, drain engine block, etc.) I would assume you are wanting to know what a basic winterization is and what is involved, check out the first post in this forum.
Or use this link.

Pick up the yellow pages and look under boats. You will find lots of dealers.
No need to winterise until end of Nov. Most years only get sub freezing temps in January and Febuary.
