No problem.

I missed the part about the fuel filter. Your carburetor has a built in filter screen. It resides in the glass bowl under the carb. Clean it with carb cleaner and blow it out with compressed air. No need for an aftermarket filter.

I replace the metal filters in the glass bowl. About C$13 at my local dealer.

Re: 1954 7.5 fleetwin carb kit # ?s

Hi All,

I have a '54 Fleetwin Model 7516. When I pull up info I find the Sierra 18-7043 carb kit without a float, and two different OMC carb kits - 0439071 and 0398532. The pictures look about the same, but the later one is $3 cheaper.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two OMC kits? Is one right and the other wrong?

Lastly, where do you find this info? Knowing will help eliminate these questions in the future, I am a quick learner with a small fleet of boats and motors all of a sudden...

Thanks!

I have only heard of, and used, the 439071. It fits a lot of different engine so I buy a few at a time. I know it's a good kit. I have no idea about the other.

The cheapest I can find it for is $25. At that price it is cheaper to buy the Sierra kit here at iBoats, and then buy the float locally for $9.25.
